Meet Our Team
Sapphire Hill Vineyards and Winery was established in 1989 and had a reputation for serving award winning Chardonnays, Pinot's and Zinfandels.
In 2011, we had the incredible opportunity to live out our wine country dream and purchase Sapphire Hill. We wanted to keep making the terrific varietals we were known for, but also had the ability to add several new varietals that we personally love as well. In a time when many wineries are being bought by bigger corporations, we're delighted to be one of the few small boutique family owned wineries left.
Our focus is on varietals from small unique vineyards concentrated in the Healdsburg appellations of Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valleys. Many times we'll bottle as little as 48 cases of particular wine. If we find great grapes, we want to make it into a great wine. We have expanded our wine selection to include interesting blends, white wine blends, italian blends and cabernet based based blends.
We only bottle wines that we are proud to serve to our family and friends. Many of them come about from our love of experimenting in the kitchen. As we "play with our food" we find that by changing one small element, you can dramatically impact the taste of the food and the wine. We like to keep things simple and fun, so when you're looking for answers for the important things in life like...what will pair with dinner, leftover Halloween candy, or your favorite Girl Scout cookie... we could probably give you the answer.
We hope you enjoy our wines as much as we loved making them for you.
Cheers! Lisa Mulcahy
